Villa Alto is a luxury villa for 11 that is part of an exclusive estate in the heart of Tuscany. The estate includes a tiny picturesque village, which is within easy reach of Villa Alto (4km)

This fabulous country estate has a gem of a village as its central point, which retains its original character and charm. Wandering over the little stone bridge and up the lane into the heart of this picturesque village makes you feel that time has stopped. The large aristocratic villa dominates the skyline as you look back. It is a beautiful and imposing building that sits just above the pretty village. It is steeped in history and once belonged to the Duke of Aosta and his family and originally dates back as far as 1039. The village has a tiny piazza and a lovely church at its heart and the village houses span out from there. Today, the estate belongs to part of the “Salvatore Ferragamo” fashion family, who have painstakingly restored the Tuscan Estate and Spa, which covers an extensive 700 hectares.

This exclusive estate has many facilities including a driving range, horse riding,  soccer field, tennis court, mountain bikes, wellness spa and  a chic village restaurant.

Villa Alto is a perfect base, for exploring the local countryside with many small villages and towns. The historic town of Arezzo is within easy reach (20 mins) and Florence is just 50 min drive away or a short train journey (30 mins) from the nearest station.

Villa Alto is a luxury villa with plenty of style for a relaxing family holiday. Guests at the villa can also recharge mind and soul in the purpose built spa located within easy reach. Guests can savour the many Tuscan specialties at the estate restaurant close by. Whilst tasting the local specialties why not compare the flavours and quality of the excellent wines produced from vineyards around the estate. The villa is located on the estate and approx. 4kms from reception and the estate village and a hire car is required.

MAIN VILLA

Villa Alto is located in the countryside. It sits on a hillside and has panoramic views over the valley. The property is made up of two buildings. The main villa is on 3 floors.

GROUND FLOOR

There is an entrance hall that leads into an elegant living room with open fireplace that opens onto the garden where there is top quality iron outdoor furniture for relaxing and also for dining "al fresco". There is a formal dining room with a table for 10 guests (with 2 x extra chairs). There is an arched glass door that leads onto the patio where there is a table and chairs for 10 guests for dining outdoors. There are 2 well equipped kitchens adjacent to one another, making it easy for staff (if required) to come in and cook without disturbing guests. Both have a 5 ring gas hob, oven, fridge (normal size in one, large fridge freezer in other), microwave, dishwasher. Also on the ground floor is laundry room with a sink, washing machine and ironing facilities. There is a ground floor bathroom with a toilet and 2 sinks.

FIRST FLOOR

There are 2 double bedrooms both with elegant en suite marble bathrooms and walk in wardrobes / dressing rooms. Each bathroom has a bathtub and a spacious walk in shower. There is a well equipped gym with a running machine, cycling machine and an exercise bench. There is also a Turkish bath adjacent to the gym. All bedrooms have a flat screen satellite TV and there is a central music system so that all bathrooms have access to the radio.

DEPENDENCE

At just a stone's throw from the main villa is a pretty dependence. It has a small lounge area. Off the lounge is a small single bedroom with its own en suite bathroom with shower. There is a staircase that leads to the first floor. On the first floor there is 1 double bedroom, which has a dressing room / walk in wardrobe and an en suite marble bathroom with a bathtub double sink and walk in shower.

GARDEN

There is a patio and terrace to the front of the villa which is well furnished with high quality outdoor furniture. There is a wonderful old Mediterranean pine tree and flower borders adjacent to the villa are planted with hydrangeas and roses. The terrace is hedged with aromatic rosemary. There are panoramic views over the valley and you can truly see for miles. A path leads down through pretty lavender bushes to the pool area. There is a pool house with arched windows opening onto the patio, which has an outdoor table and chairs and there are 2 pergolas for shade.
The pool house has a well equipped kitchen area with a 5 ring gas hob, dishwasher, fridge. There is a marble bathroom with 2 walk in showers and a separate toilet. The private pool is oval in shape and approx 12 x 6 mts. The pool area overlooks olive groves and has panoramic views over the valley.

SPA & WELLNESS CENTRE

The spa, where guests can relax and pamper themselves is part of the magical medieval village close by. The spa is purpose built and is very bright and airy with picture windows. It includes a wellness suite, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, lounge area, fitness room, café and an outdoor lap pool in summer. Various treatments are also available including therapeutic massages. There are pretty views over the village. There are many other facilities in and around the estate such as horse riding, archery, football pitch to mention just a few. Reception is also available for any help you may need during your stay.

RESTAURANT

Savour the fine estate wines and excellent food at the village restaurant, just a short drive from the villa. It has a Bistro as well as a gourmet restaurant and beautiful roof top terrace overlooking the picturesque medieval village so you can enjoy the chef's specialities.

There are a variety of artisan shops selling both local specialty cheese and handmade items around the estate village and a Boutique at the spa. These are loacted approx 4km from the villa and a car is required.
