Villa Montebello is a fabulous, restored farmhouse on a private wine estate. It has been restored with great taste and attention to detail. It has many original features but has many modern features and is exceptionally well equipped. Located right in the heart of the stunning landscapes of Chianti, just outside the local village of Panzano, the farmhouse has lovely views across rolling countryside dotted with country farmhouses. The house is set in a private garden that extends into vineyards around the property. Villa Montebello is a perfect property for a family group looking for a beautiful setting. The house is a perfect base, for exploring Chianti and visiting Florence (50 mins) or Siena(40 mins) which are all within easy reach. Villa Montebello is in a country location and yet close to the local town of Greve in Chianti, which has a variety of local shops in the centre of town. Some local supplies can also be bought in the small local village of Panzano, home of nationally famous butcher. (Cecchini), who is known to recite poetry in his shop!

The main entrance to the house is through a private electronic gateway from the road, along a short driveway up to private parking alongside the farmhouse.

SLEEPS 10

GROUND FLOOR

This fabulous villa has been built into the local rock and so follows the contours of the ground. The ground floor is built over several different levels, one slightly raised from the other. This large stone farmhouse is accessed through a main entrance into a large reception room. Off this to the rear of the house is a large well–equipped kitchen, which has a large cooker, 2 ovens, hob, island worktop, open fireplace and built in rotisserie oven and a microwave. To the rear of the kitchen is a further work space, which has an extra sink and a large American fridge / freezer. The kitchen also opens onto a side patio equipped with built in US BBQ and there are fabulous vineyard views. The well equipped gym is on the ground floor to the left of the entrance hall / reception room and is equipped with satellite TV.

To the other side of the house there is another hallway leading up a few steps to a ground floor double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower. This room opens onto a small patio. Up another couple of steps there is a very spacious main lounge with TV, DVD, Video complete with a large range of films and a study desk with computer and internet connection. The lounge has large glass doors onto a large covered patio and the garden, where there are great views over the surrounding countryside. A laundry room is also located on the ground floor and this has a washer/dryer as well as equipment for ironing.

FIRST FLOOR

A small set of stairs leads up to a double bedroom and a twin bedroom that share a bathroom with a roll top bath. The master bedroom is very spacious. This bedroom has a dressing room and large en suite bathroom with spacious shower and marble sink. On this floor there is a further double bedroom with its own balcony and en suite bathroom with shower and marble sink.

There are different patio areas around the farmhouse. There is a large covered patio off the living room and another off the kitchen. All have wonderful views over the beautiful Chianti countryside, famous for its wines. There is also a covered pergola at the poolside for eating “al fresco”. There is a large garden and the salt water pool is set at a distance from the house. It is a large asymmetric, infinity pool with steps in.
