Have to let you know that our week (16 to 23 July) in Tuscany ranks as one
of our best holidays ever and we can't wait to go back.
We tried a couple of your restaurants and also found them to be excellent
Thought you'd like a recommendation in return..........
Ristorante Guidoriccio, Via G Dupre, 2 (Angolo P.zza del Campo), Siena was
heaven on a hot day. We walked round Siena and halfway round the tourist
trail, just behind the Campo at the beginning of Via Dupre, were lured into
this family run restaurant by their sign offering "air conditioning" and
"light lunches". The staff were charming and very keen to help explain
their dishes, offering to make any adjustments we wanted. Robert had the
most amazing plate of proscuitto and melon whilst I had a selection of
pecorino cheeses with pears and honey, and a glass of recommended red wine.
Robert had to have their own (saffron infused) panna cotta. Absolutely
delicious! Why can't we get food like this here - and we go to some pretty
expensive places in search!! (Sorry if I've spelt any Italian incorrectly,
it tastes just as wonderful anyway).
Anyway, hope this is of use and some lucky people get to enjoy the
Guidoriccio before we do again.
